Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the economic efficiency of fuel by positioning the interval having a narrow width among the interval between fuel rod rows, between the intervals having a wide width and allowing all the fuel rods contiguous to a moderator rod to be included in a plurality of fuel rod rows forming the interval having the narrow width.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel rods 6 are arranged in ten rows of A1-J1 and in ten rows of A2-J2 in the crossing direction at right angle. Two side surfaces of a lower part tie plate 4 cross with the fuel rods 6 at right angles, and the upper surface of the plate 4 has a square shape. The fuel rods 6 in four lines and four rows at each corner part of the assembly are arranged in an orthogonal lattice form, and the fuel rod 6 rows interposed between the orthogonal lattice are arranged in deflection to a horizontal rod 7 side. Accordingly, twelve fuel rods which are contiguous to the rod 7 form equilateral triangular lattices. With this constitution, the interval (d, f) having a narrow width among between the fuel rod 6 rows is positioned between the interval having a wide width, and the pitch increases by 3%, in comparison with the arrangement consisting of only the orthogonal. lattice.
