PURPOSE: To provide the bag comprising a film consisting mainly of polyvinyl alcohol, capable of retaining the freshness of a fruit and lowering the putrefaction rate of the fruit, and used for storing the fruit.

CONSTITUTION: The bag comprises a film such as a Vinylon film (preferably a degree of polymerization of 700-2800, a degree of saponification of ≥85mol.%) produced by the thermal treatment, formalizing reaction, etc., of a film consisting mainly of polyvinyl alcohol obtained e.g. by saponifying polyvinyl acetate by a film-producing method such as a solution-casting method or a melt extrusion method, and has preferably a thickness of 0.02-0.04mm.
