PURPOSE: To enhance operability, allow a high traveling speed, and improve the working efficiency, in a steering method and steering device for crawler vehicle most suitable for carriage of lumber in a forest and the like, by freely changing and controlling the direction of a rear crawler to a front crawler in the same phase or opposite phase according to the state of a field such as an inclined face.

CONSTITUTION: A direction changing link 26 is pivotally supported on one end of a drag link 20 connected to front crawlers 1, 1', and one end of a center drag link 30 connected to rear crawlers is inserted into its guide hole 26 in such a manner as to be changeable, whereby the front crawlers and rear crawlers are steered in the same phase or opposite phase through the drag links.
