PURPOSE: To provide a glass sheet cutter capable of reducing backlash and capable of rapidly and precisely forming a cutting line.

CONSTITUTION: This glass sheet cutter is provided with a shaft 6 for supporting a cutter block 4, a pneumatic cylinder 9 connected to the shaft 6 to press a cutter blade 8 fixed to the cutter block 4 on a glass sheet 7 placed on a glass sheet holder, an electric motor 11 with the output rotating shaft 10 connected to the shaft 6 to turn the cutter blade in the A direction and a device 12 for moving a base 3 in the X-Y directions with respect to the glass sheet 7 in the X-Y plane. The output rotating shaft 10 of the motor 11 and the cutter supporting shaft 6 are arranged on the Z axis.
