This name resolution device 100 includes: a cache part 103 for caching a response content to inquiry to a name management system for managing a hierarchically-configured name space; a verification part 105 for verifying validity of the response content to the inquiry for name resolution using first verification information obtained from a server of a hierarchy of an inquiry destination of the inquiry, verifying the validity of the first verification information using second verification information obtained by inquiry to servers of the respective hierarchies from the highest hierarchy of the name management system to the upper hierarchy of the hierarchy of the inquiry destination of the inquiry, and storing the first verification information of which the validity has been verified in the cache part 103 to be reused; and a cache control part 104 for controlling the first verification information to be left in the cache part 103 when creating an empty region in the cache part.
