A navigation device includes a CD block 6 with a CD-ROM storing map data; a GPS block 2 for determining the current position, with a GPS antenna 1 connected thereto; an FM tuner 14 for receiving an FM broadcast wave, with an FM antenna 4 connected thereto; an FM multiple decoder 15 for decoding multiplexed data to the FM broadcast wave; a CPU 13 that causes the FM tuner 14 and the FM multiple decoder 15 to receive either of the data about traffic information or information on errors with signals received from a plurality of satellites, in such a manner that when the other data cannot be received at the same frequency, the other data is received at a different frequency; and a graphic controller 17 that processes the map data from the CD block 6 while using the data about the traffic information and error information obtained to display the map data in a monitor block 7.
