Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To travel comfortably without causing a driver to feel troublesomeness by performing such control as not to perform guidance at guidance intersections in the case that guidance intersections are continuous while traveling a road of the same road name.
SOLUTION: A control means first determines and acquires guidance intersections which require guidance from route information. It is determined whether the acquired distance d1 between adjacent guidance intersections is greater than a predetermined distance L (i.e., 150 m) or not. In the case that it is greater than the predetermined distance L, one intersection map of the first guidance intersection is plotted and outputted. In addition, in the case that it is not greater than the predetermined distance L, the next distance d2 between guidance intersection is acquired, and the first distance d1 between guidance intersections is compared with the next distance d2 between guidance intersections. In the case that it is determined that the first distance d1 between guidance intersections is long (short), one (two) intersection map is plotted and outputted at the first guidance intersection, and two (one) intersection maps are plotted and outputted at the next intersection.
