To provide a navigation device that is capable of, when an actual location is at a predetermined distance or more from a destination after route guidance is finished, performing route searching and route guidance to the destination again, displaying a destination directional line indicative of the direction to the destination again, sounding a warning alarm as the distance to the destination increases, and automatically changing a scale according to the distance to the destination.
The navigation device according to the present invention is a navigation device that is capable of performing route searching, and it includes: route guidance means that searches for a route from any location to a destination and performs route guidance; actual location detecting means that detects an actual location; destination distance calculating means that calculates a distance from the actual location to the destination; map display means that displays a map according to a scale; destination direction calculating means that calculates a direction from the actual location to the destination; destination directional line display means that displays a straight line from the actual location in the direction calculated by the destination direction calculating means; and travelling state determining means that determines whether a driver is losing his/her way from the actual travelling state.
