Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To navigate a vehicle by computing the location of visiting address and optimal route therefor with the aid of telephone number service by providing a sound recognition means for recognizing the sound of telephone number service and a storage means for storing a position information of telephone subscriber.
SOLUTION: A latitude/longitude data base 17 (storage means) stores a position information on latitude and longitude of subscribers corresponding to their telephone numbers. While a user is navigated, the telephone number of a target address is inquired of a telephone number service 4 from a wireless telephone 2 through a public telephone circuit relay station 3. A sound recognition coding unit 12 (sound recognition means) inputs a voice of a telephone receiver 2b from a pick-up microphone 12a, and it recognizes the telephone number by sound and codes it. Then the latitude and longitude of the target address corresponding to the telephone number are retrieved from the data base 17. The obtained latitude and longitude are set as a target and the optimal route between the present position and target is computed, and the optimal route and present position are indicated on the route map of a display 20.
