CONSTITUTION: A road map data storage means 11, a present position detecting means 2, control means 3 and 4 which lets map data in the vicinity of the position detected by the present position detecting means 2 read from the road map data storage means 10 so as to generate display data and a road map displaying means 5 displaying display data generated by the control means 3 and 4 are provided in the navigation device where the storage means 10 of traffic regulation information is provided and display data which changes the display modes of the regulated road is generated based on the information of the storage means 10 of the traffic regulation information when the control means 3 and 4 detect the road where passage is regulated in a direction being roughly coincident with a self vehicle running direction in the vicinity of the present position detected by the detecting means 2.
