Abstract:

To solve a problem of causing inaccuracy of a measured value by bending of underwater acoustic wave in measuring the position of an underwater device.

An acoustic array is equipped with an acoustic velocity meter. Output data by the acoustic array is computed with processing configuration to obtain the position of the underwater device, and acoustic velocity in a fluid layer directly under a ship is measured by the acoustic velocity meter. The processing configuration thereby corrects the position computation of the underwater device to detect an accurate position.
