PURPOSE: To enable recycling of needle punched carpet and to lighten needle punched carpet by preventing fiber removal of needle punched carpet without using a binder.

CONSTITUTION: In order to prevent fiber removal from needle punched carpet by using thermally fusing fibers as fundamental fibers of needle punched carpet, the thermally fusing fibers existing at least in the vicinity of the surface or back of the needle punched carpet are bonded between the fibers. In this case, the content of the thermally fusing fibers is ≥50wt.% based on the whole amount of the blended fibers. Flame-retardant fibers are preferably used as the thermally fusing fibers.
