To obtain a net for paper making, capable of preventing stains generated by the adhesion of gum pitches contained in a raw material for paper making, etc., and capable of bearing the use for a long period (excellent in durability).
This net for paper making is produced by irradiating UV light on polyester monofilaments as warps and wefts forming the base part of the net or on the base part of the formed net with a discharge lamp such as a high pressure mercury lamp to activate the surfaces of the monofilaments, forming a base resin layer comprising an epoxy resin (including an urethane- modified epoxy resin), an urethane resin or a phenolic resin on the adhesivity- enhanced surfaces of the monofilaments or on the adhesivity-enhanced surface of the net, and preliminarily adding a hydrophilic resin such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone to the base resin or graft-polymerizing a hydroxyl group-having monomer such as 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid, vinyl sulfonic acid, styrene sulfonic acid or allylsulfonic acid to the base resin layer. Thus, the net having the hydrophilic resin layer is obtained.
