To provide a network controller that executes transmission reception processing of a succeeding data packet without the need for a network controller at a reception station side to continue reception processing even when a data packet has disappeared by devising read processing of the data packet transmitted on a network.
The network controller is provided with a cyclic code detection means 123 that detects a cyclic code of serial data from a line, its error detection means 124 that checks arrival of a data packet to a reception station and a count means 105 that stores number of times of data detection, and limits the reception processing. Thus, even when a data packet has disappeared, transmission reception processing of a succeeding data packet can be executed without the need for a network controller at a reception station side to continue reception processing.
