Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accommodation efficiency of an opposite device, by enhancing the use efficiency of terminals of a communication port.SOLUTION: A network device includes a plurality of communication ports arranged to operate by selecting any one of a first operation mode for communicating with an opposite device by using a 8-pole terminal, or a second operation mode for communicating with the opposite device by using a 4-pole terminal, depending on the operation mode of the opposite device to be housed. At least any one of the plurality of communication ports houses two opposite devices per one communication port, via a conversion adapter for branching a cable including a 8-core signal line into two cables each having a 4-core signal line, when operating the second operation mode, and performs communication in the second operation mode simultaneously with the two opposite devices.
