Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network position managing system for showing exact positions. SOLUTION: This position managing system finds the exact positions of each of equipment such as repeater and terminal equipment in a CATV system. Position information 60 (latitude and longitude) measured by a GPS measuring instrument is stored in the repeater 30 and terminal equipment 55 of the CTV system. A central unit 14 obtains position information 60 of each of equipment by polling and stores it in an information storage part 17. Then, the addresses of each of equipment, for example, are described at respective positions instructed by the information storage part 17 on a map data base 15. Thus, an arrangement map, on which address numbers are described, is automatically prepared on the map data base 15. At the time of maintenance and management, this arrangement map is displayed on a paper or display and provided to a manager.
