To prevent the redundant flow of radio reception data by selecting a device that performs the radio transmission/reception based on the received radio communication propriety information and its own radio communication propriety information if plural devices which can perform the radio transmission/ reception to the external devices are included in a network where plural devices are connected to each other via the serial interfaces.

The device that can perform the radio transmission/reception among plural 1394 devices which are connected to each other via an IEEE1394 network inserts the transmission/reception property information to a self-ID packet together with the communicable transfer rate information via a transmission/reception propriety information inserting means 11 and transmits these information via a data transmission means 16. A 1394 device that can serve as a bus manager receives those information and stores them in a topology map. A working device selection means 12 discriminates all devices that can perform the radio transmission/reception in the network based on the topology map information and selects the only device that performs the radio transmission/reception based on a prescribed rule.
