To allow a packet reception terminal side to request reservation of a network resource in the network system that consists of terminals each having a reservation message processing section and a relay node and transfers a packet.

The packet reception terminal 3 sends a request message storing a reservation request condition to request reservation of a resource to a packet to a packet transmission terminal 1, and the packet transmission terminal 1 receiving the request message transmits a reply message storing the reservation request condition to a relay node 2 in the same path for the packet, each relay node 2 reserves the resource in its own station according to the reservation request condition in the reply message, transfers the reply message to the same path as the packet, and after the reply message passes all the relay nodes 2 relaying the packet, when the packet reception terminal 3 receives the reply message, the network resource reservation procedure is made complete.
