To provide a network system which can determine message identifiers in a short time by shortening the time required to determine network identifiers of all slave nodes.
A slave node A2 for which a network identifier is not determined creates a network identifier request message A24 so that it may contain random numbers using a network identifier request message creating means 22 and sends the created message A24 to a master node 1. Then, the master node 1 assigns a network identifier related to the random numbers to the slave node A2 by a network identifier assignment means 12 and creates a network identifier notification message A14 containing random numbers and the assigned network identifier using a network identifier notification message creating means 13 and sends the created message A14 to the slave node A2. Upon reception of the message A14, the slave node A2 checks out the random numbers and determines its network identifier and message identifier.
