Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quantize an analog signal by using the concept of a new multivalued neural network. CONSTITUTION: An input analog signal from an input terminal 1 is supplied to sampling means 20 to 2N-1 , sampling pulses are successively supplied and N sample values are extracted. These sample values are respectively supplied to the one side inputs of multivalued neurons 30 to 3N-1 . Output values (analog) from these neurons 30 to 3N-1 are supplied to the other side inputs of the neurons 30 to 3N-1 through weighting resistors 40 ,0 ...4N-1 ,0 to 4N-1 ,0 ...4N-1 ,N-1 . Output values (digital) from the neurons 30 to 3N-1 are respectively supplied to latch circuits 50 to 5N-1 to latch output values when operation is converged. These latched values are successively extracted from an output terminal 6.
