PURPOSE: To obtain recognition capability which is high in learning, recognition, and estimation by applying genetic algorithm of information processing to a structured setting method for input layer unit of pattern recognition and estimation.
CONSTITUTION: When various set value such as a learning pattern and a tutor pattern are inputted to an input device 5, the respective patterns are stored in a working memory 2 through an input control part 3. The respective input values are inputted to the neural network 1, where a coupling coefficient is updated by performing learning on the basis of the learning pattern, tutor pattern, and various set values in the work memory 2 through a genetic algorithm control part 7 and a genetic group 8. The coupling coefficient is stored in the neural network 1 and the learning is outputted to and displayed on a device 6 through an output control part 4. When an input pattern is inputted, it is stored in the working memory 2 as mentioned above, the neutral network 1 performs recognition or value estimation, and the result is outputted to and displayed on the device 6.
