Abstract:

To provide a neurotropic factor for diagnosing and treating nervous system disorders.

Disclosed is an isolated neublastin nucleic acid comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of (a) a nucleotide sequence comprising a specific sequence, (b) a neublastin polypeptide comprising at least 90% homology to AA1-AA105 having a specific sequence, or a nucleic acid sequence having an open reading frame encoding a polypeptide derived therefrom in expression thereof, (c) a nucleic acid specifically hybridizable to a nucleic acid comprising nucleotide sequence having a specific sequence under high stringency solution hybridization conditions, or a complemental strand thereof, and (d) a nucleic acid having at least 70% homology to a polynucleotide sequence existing as a specific sequence.
