Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a neuralizing agent inexpensively producible and to make the sulfur content in a sludge generated by the neutralization of waste acid reducible. SOLUTION: A neutralizing agent for treating waste acid which contains 25-70% of MgO, 10-40% of CaO, 3-10% of Al2 O3 , 3-15% of SiO2 , and 3-25% of C and is composed of powdery particles and in which the percentage R (=W1/WT) of the mass W1 of particles 0.1-75 μm to total mass WT of the particles is at least 70% is produced by a method in which a magnesia refractory material after being used in a metal melting furnace, a metal smelting furnace, and a metal container is used as a raw material, crushed, base metal- separated, and classified.
