PURPOSE: To obtain nu neutron absorber which is extermely high in thermal neutron absorption capacity by sintering the boron-containing stainless steel powder of specific composition.
CONSTITUTION: The boron-containing steel powder consisting of C (0.005 to 0.15%), Si (0.1 to 3.0%), Mn (≤2.0%), Cr (7.0 to 55.0%), Ni (25.0%), Mo (≤ )5.0%), B (0.1 to 4%), and the substantially remaining material of Fe, or the steel po 90 to 20 parts by weight of 10 to 80 parts by weight of the boron-containing steel power of which B composition percentage is 0.15 to 7.0% is mixed with the steel powder consisting of C(0.005 to 0.15%), Si (0.1 to 3.0%), Mn (≤2.0%), Cr (7.0 to 30.0%), Ni (≤25.0%), Mo (≤5.0%), and the remaining material of Fe. Steel sheets are manufactured by processing the powder of which B content is adjusted over 0.1% by various processes of rolling forming, sintering, cold rolling, and solubility and are used as neutron absorber.
