Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron detector for fast and intermediate neutrons capable of detecting a neutron with lower energy even in a place including γ-ray or β-ray with high energy. SOLUTION: A depletion layer 13a formed on an incident electrode 11a side on which a recoil proton by neutron is incident is not formed in a solid state but formed in a shape where parts having no depletion layer are dispersed. The parts having no depletion part are dispersed, whereby the charge quantity of current pulse by γ-ray or β-ray is reduced, and the discrimination level of a wave height value discrimination circuit for discriminating the current pulse by γ-ray or β-ray can be reduced to lower the minimum energy of the detectable neutron. Examples of the shape include a concentric annular shape, a branched shape and the like.
