Abstract:
To properly set energy resolution as well as sensitivity concurrently, in a neutron measuring apparatus.
A radiator 12 is disposed in a container 10, and when neutrons n enter it, recoil protons p are generated by the radiator 12 and are then detected by a two-dimensional detector 14. The detected energy is compensated, based on a scattering angle θ related to a detecting position, thereby obtaining a compensated neutron energy spectrum. The two-dimensional detector 14 may be a flat plate type or may have a form of a circular arc.
