Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new 1,4-(diphenylalkyl)homopiperazine which is represented by a specific formula, has high affinity to σ-receptor and is useful in treatment for cerebral nerve dysfunction such as dementia or depression.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is represented by formula I (R1 is H, a halogen, a lower alkyl; R2, R3 are each a lower alkoxy; A, B are each a lower alkylene), preferably 1-[3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-propyl]-4-(4-phenyl-l-butyl)homopiperazine. The compound is obtained by reaction of homopiperazine with a compound of formula II followed by reaction of the product with a compound of formula III (X1, X2 are each a halogen).
