PURPOSE: To obtain a new 3-aryl-trazine-2,4-dione which has a compatibility with important crop plants as well as a fairly excellent herbicidal activity against problematical weeds.
CONSTITUTION: The compound is shown by formula I, e.g. 3-(4-chloro-2-fluoro-5- methoxycarbonyl-phenyl)-1-methyl-6-ethoxy-(1H,3H)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-dione. The compound of formula I wherein Het is a compound of formula III is obtained by cyclizing a substituted phenyl urea derivatives of formula IV (R8 is an alkyl, an aryl) and optionally reacting the obtained product shown by formula V with a compounds of the formula R4-1-E (E is an electron-attracting released group). In formula I, Het is a compound of formula II or III (R4 is H, CN, an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl, a halogenoalkyl; R5 is an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl; Z is O, S); R1 is H, a halogen; R2 is a halogen, CN, NO2; R3 is X-R6, CO-X-R7 (X is O, S; R6, R7 are each H, an alkyl which can optionally be substituted).
