Abstract:
To specify and separate a new compound excellent in hypoglycemic action and anti-inflammatory action from a plant excellent in safety and having been used as a popular medicine, to collect a fraction containing the new compound by fractionating a plant extract containing the new compound, and to provide a general-purpose anti-inflammatory antidiabetic pharmaceutical using these.
The useful composition excellent in hypoglycemic action and anti-inflammatory action is obtained by incorporating thereinto a new acetylene compound which is an ingredient of an extract of a plant belonging to the genus Bidens, particularly Bidens pilosa, or a fraction containing the same.
