Abstract:

To obtain the subject new compound as a strong ligand for a melatonin receptor, having an effective action on sleep disorder, etc., anxiolytic, antipsychotic and analgesic characteristics, useful for treating Parkinson's disease, etc.

This compound is shown by formula I {R1 is H, OH, a group of the formula R6 [R6 is a (substituted) (cyclo)alky, etc.], etc.; R1' is H, a halogen, R6, etc.; R2 is H or an alkyl; R3 is a group (Z) of the formula (C=X)-R4[R4 is H, a (substituted) alkyl, etc.; X is S or O], etc.; (n) is 0-3; A forms benzothiophene with an adjoining benzene and, when R4 is an alkyl or vinyl, R1 is H or methyl and R' is H, n is not 0}, its enantiomer, diastereomer or and acid addition salt to a base such as N-[3-(7-methoxy-1-naphthyl) propyl]acetamide. The compound of formula I in which R3 is Z is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III (Hal is a halogen) and, in case of need, further reacting the obtained compound with a vulcanizing agent.
