Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new β-lactam compound having excellent antimicrobial activity against imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula I {(j) is 0 or 1; R1 is H, OH-protecting group or formula II to IV (Y is single bond, alkylene CO, etc.; R5 and R6 are H or OH-protecting group; Z is H, halogen NO2, CN, etc.); R2 is H or carboxyl-protecting group; M is S or CH2; A is formula V to VII [(k), (l), (m) and (n) are 0-3; R3 is H, alkyl, etc.; R4 is formula II to IV; R7 is H or alkyl; R8 is H, protecting group of amino group, lower alkyl group, etc.; R5 is R7 or NH2-protecting group), etc., when R1 is H or OH-protecting group formula VII to X, etc., when R1 is formula II to IV]} and its salt, e.g. (4R,5S,6 S,8R,2'R,4'S)-3-[(1-(3,4-dihydroxybenzoyl)methyl-2- dimethylaminocarbonylpyrrolidin)-4-ylthio]-4-methyl-6-(1hydroxyethyl)-1- azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-en-7-one-2-carboxylic acid.
