PURPOSE: To provide the new compd. having the action for inhibiting lipid peroxidation and eicosanoid biosynthesis, useful for treatments and prevention of central or peripheral ischemia, inflammation, osteoarthritis, metabolic disaese, asthma, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. is expressed by formula I [where (n) is 0 or 1; X is O or H; R1 to R4 are each H or 1-8C lower alkyl; R5 is H, lower acyl or the like; R6 and R7 are each H, lower alkyl, -(CH2)m-A ((m) is 0-2; A is 3-7C cycloalkyl) or the like], e.g. N-isobutyl-N-(4,6-dimethylpyridin-2-yl)-(6-hydroxy-3,4- dihydro-2,5,7,8-tetramethyl-2H[1]-benzopyran-2-yl)carboxamide. The compd. of formula I is obtained, by acting the compd. of formula II (R5" is lower alkyl, lower acyl or the like) with a halogenating agent to convert it to the chloride, after that treating with the amine of formula III in the presence of an alkali agent.
