To provide a new compound having a COMT (catechol-O-methyl transferase)-inhibiting action.
Provided are the compound represented by general formula (I) [wherein, R1 and R2 are each H, a lower acyl, a lower alkoxycarbonyl, or the like; R3 is a lower alkoxycarbonyl, -C(O)NR11R12, -SO2NR11R12, a lower alkylsulfonyl, an arylsulfonyl, a lower acyl, or the like; R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are each H, a halogen, a lower alkyl, a halogenated lower alkyl, a lower alkoxy, or the like] or its pharmacologically acceptable salt, a medicinal composition containing the same, and their uses. The compound of the present invention is useful as an agent for treating or preventing Parkinson's disease and the like, because of having an excellent COMT-inhibiting action.
