Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new cationic dye having a specified structure, useful, e.g. for coloration or surface dyeing of paper, fiber and leather, excellent in dyeing properties and capable of dyeing without remaining an unfixed dye in the waste water.
CONSTITUTION: The objective dye has a structure of formula I [X is (substituted) benzene ring, naphthalene ring, etc.; Q is N=N, NHCONH or formula II (Z1 is Cl, amino, etc.); Y is formula III, IV (R1-R3 are 1-4C alkyl; R4 is H, halogen, etc.; R5 is residue of quarternarizing agent for N), etc.; (a) is cation; (l) is 1-2] and its metal complex (e.g. compound of formula V). For example, the compound of formula I can be obtained by diazotizing a compound of formula VI [preferably (substituted)aminobenzene having trimethyl, etc.], then coupling the resultant compound with, e.g. an aminobenzene which may be substituted with a 1-4C alkyl, etc., and further diazotizing the obtained monoazo compound, etc.
