PURPOSE: To provide a new chlorine deriv. of dihydroporphyrin usable for an photodynamic treatment method of tumors.
CONSTITUTION: This chlorine deriv. is expressed by formula I (one set of two sets R1/R2 and R3/R4 is H/3 to 12C alkyl and the other set is methyl/CH2-CO-R6; R5, R6 are each OH, 1 to 6C alkoxy, NH2, mono- or di-1 to 6C alkylamino; one of X and Y is H, the other is methyl). The compd. has the max. value of long wavelength absorption having a high absorption coefft. and ensures the deeper penetration in the tissues in the case the compd. is used for the purpose of the photodynamic treatment method. The compd. is obtd. by bringing the duteroporphyrin dimethylester of formula II into reaction with the anhydride of formula III (L is 2 to 11C alkyl) in the form of its copper complex, converting the resulted compd. of formula IV (one piece of R7, R8 is methyl, the other is 3 to 12C alkanoyl) to the compd. of formula V and bringing the compd. into reaction with N,N-dimethyl acetoamide dimethylacetal, then subjecting the compd. to hydrogenation.
