PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound and composition for targeting a cancer stem cell.SOLUTION: A naphthofuran compound, a polymorph of naphthofuran compound, a naphthofuran compound in particle form, a refined composition which contains at least one naphthofuran compound, a refined composition which contains at least one naphthofuran compound in particle form; a method for forming the naphthofuran compound, the polymorph, the refined composition and/or particle form; and a method for using the naphthofuran compound, the polymorph, the refined composition and/or particle form in treatment of a subject in need thereof are provided.
