Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new copolymer, having excellent heat, chemical and radiation resistances, low-temperature characteristics, adhesion, etc., while having sufficient mechanical strengths and useful as a laminating film, etc., for insulation coating and having thermal fusibility.
CONSTITUTION: This copolymer is a polyamic acid copolymer, a polyisoimide or a polyimide polymer expressed by formula I [R1 is a bivalent organic group; R2 is a tetravalent organic group; X is a trivalent binding group such as a group expressed by formula II; (m) and (n) are positive integers]. The copolymer is obtained by dissolving 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane dibenzoate-3,3',4,4'- tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride in an organic polar solvent, charging a diamine compound such as p-diaminobenzene thereinto, adding an acid dianhydride expressed by formula III (Ar3 is a tetravalent organic group such as a group expressed by formula IV as the third component thereto so that the molar amounts of the acid dianhydride and the diamine compound substantially equimolar and then cyclodehydrating the resultant reactional mixture.
