Abstract:
PURPOSE: To chemically synthesize a hexasaccharide hexasulfate compd. expected to be useful as a blood coagulant by catalytically reducing a specific compd. or its salt.
CONSTITUTION: A new hexasaccharide hexasulfate compd. of formula II is produced by catalytically reducing a compd. of formula I or its salt. The resulting compd. has a structure formed by substituting terminal 2,5-anhydro- D-talitol 4-sulfate residues of a hexasaccharide hexasulfate compd. isolated from natural products with N-acetyl-D-galactosamine 4-sulfate residues and can be totally synthesized, thus enabling its production in a large amt. whereas only a minute amt. thereof has been isolated from natural products.
