To obtain a new disperse dye capable of dying new synthetic fibers in a deep blue color excellent in several fastness of stained articles by coupling the diazotization product of an aminocyanonitrothiophene to N-phenoxyethyl- aniline derivatives.
This disperse dye is expressed by formula I [R1 is H, a halogen, a 1-5C alkyl etc.; R2 is H, a (substituted) 1-5C alkyl, a nitro, a cyano, a 2-6C alkoxycarbonyloxy, etc.; R3 is a 1-8C alkyl, a 2-6C alkoxyalkyl or a 3-7C alkoxyalkoxyalkyl, etc.], e.g. the disperse dye of formula II. The disperse dye of formula I is obtained by carrying out a coupling reaction, e.g. coupling the diazotization product of 2-amino-3-cyano-5-nitrothiophene of formula III to a derivative of N-phenoxyethyl-aniline of formula IV. An intect synthetic fiber material is immersed in a dye bath prepared by dispersing this disperse dye in an aqueous medium, at ≥105°C preferably 110-140°C under pressurization, preferably for 30-60min to afford a stained material.
