To obtain the subject new dlg family molecule having a specific amino acid sequence, useful for clarifying the function of a dlg molecule which is encoded on a cancer-inhibiting gene originated from drosophila, wherein the deletion of the gene causes the excessive growth of imaginal disc neogenesis to form neuroblastoma.
This new dlg family molecule has an amino acid sequence of the formula or the amino acid sequence of the formula wherein one or more amino acids are replaced, deleted or added, and is useful for clarifying the function of a dig molecule, etc. A dlg gene originated from drosophila is considered to be a cancer-inhibiting gene, and the deletion of the dlg gene has been known to form neuroblastoma through the excessive growth of imaginal disc renascence. The molecule is obtained by screening the cDNA library of human prostate, inserting the obtained gene for the dlg molecule into a vector, transducing the vector into a host cell, and subsequently culturing the transformant to express the gene.
