Abstract:

PURPOSE: To fortify bone by means other than the active intake of calcium through ordinary dietary life.

CONSTITUTION: This new functional food contains the seed of Psoralea corylifilia or an organic solvent extract fraction therefrom. This extract fraction may substantially be freed from coumarin compounds such as psoralene or isopsoralene, flavonoids such as bavachin, bavachinin or isobavachin, chalcones such as bavachalcone or isobavachalcone and bakuchiol. Foods to be purposed include flavors for cola beverages, raw materials to health tea; raw materials or flavoring materials for cereal foods such as baked confectionery or bread; raw materials for liqueur or medicinal wine, raw materials for seasonings such as ketchup, mayonnaise, dressing, sauces or spicy oil; raw materials for prepared oils; raw materials for processed fatty oils such as butter, margarine, peanut butter or cream cheese; raw materials for various processed foods, esp. soup, a soup with fermented soybean paste (a Jap. cooking) soup, curry roux, fish flour or various prepared foods; raw materials for various ready-to-eat foods.
