Title:
New high surface conductivity electrode material
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6006709
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
Reversible electrode material with discharging alkaline ions comprises a complex oxide having a spinel structure comprising a carbonaceous conducting material deposit obtained by pyrolysis of an organic material by contacting the complex oxide with the organic material or its precursor, where the deposit is different from a deposit obtained from carbon powder, and the carbonaceous conducting material has a structural integrity during the electrochemical reaction by electrode material. Reversible electrode material with discharging alkaline ions comprises a complex oxide having a spinel structure of formula A aM mO oN nF f comprising a carbonaceous conducting material deposit obtained by pyrolysis of an organic material by contacting the complex oxide with the organic material or its precursor, where the deposit is different from a deposit obtained from carbon powder, and the carbonaceous conducting material has a structural integrity during the electrochemical reaction by electrode material. A : alkaline metal; M : Ti, and optionally a metal other than a transition metal, preferably Mg or Al; O : oxygen; N : nitrogen; F : fluorine; a, o : greater than 0; and m, n, f : >=0 to maintain electroneutrality of the complex oxide. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process of preparing the reversible electrode material comprising contacting the complex with the organic precursor material or carbonaceous material and subjecting pyrolysis; (2) an electrode comprising the material on a collector; and (3) an electrochemical cell comprising the electrode as anode.
