Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new complex having excellent light fastness, solubility, contrast and high recording concentration and useful for a transparent recording material, etc., by reacting a reaction product of 4-hydroxyphenanthridine and para-N,N- substituted aminoaniline with a metal salt.
CONSTITUTION: This new indoaniline-metal complex is expressed by formula I [M is a metal atom; R1 and R2 are each H, a (substituted) alkyl, a (substituted) aryl or directly bonding to form a nitrogen-containing 5-6 membered ring or a condensed ring containing the ring; R3 is H or an electron-donating group; R4-R6 are each H or an electron-withdrawing group; i, j and k are each 1-3, l and n are each 1-4; m is 1 or 2; X is an anion]. This metal complex has a large absorption in near infrared region with a slight absorption of visible region, having excellent light fastness, solubility, high recording concentration and high contrast and useful for a transparent recording material, etc. This metal complex is obtained by reacting a new indoaniline compound of formula II prepared by a reaction of 4-hydroxyphenanthridine compound and para-N,N-substituted aminoaniline compound with an inorganic salt.
