Title:
NEW LIGHT STABILIZER CONTAINING STERICALLY HINDERED AMINE AS BASE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11171883
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject new compound useful as a stabilizing agent for organic materials against damaging actions of light, oxygen and heat.

This compound is represented by formula I [R1 to R4 are each a halogen, H or the like; two of R1 to R4 are each form a 5- to a 12-membered aliphatic ring or two adjacent groups of R1 to R4 may form a 5- or a 6-membered aromatic ring; R5 is H, CN or SR1 (R7 is H, an alkyl or an aryl); R6 is a group represented by formula II (R8 is H or an alkyl; R9 is H or an alkyl; R9 is H, an alkyl, an oxygen group O* or the like; R10 is H or an alkyl) or a group represented by formula III], e.g. a compound represented by formula IV. The compound represented by formula I is obtained by the transesterification starting from a 4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylic acid ester and a suitably substituted sterically hindered amine, especially the transesterification with 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-ol or the like.
