To provide a new microorganism having a proteolytic ability, to provide a new microorganism having the excellent proteolytic ability for particularly a protein of fishes, to further provide a method for a proteolytic treatment of the fishes using the microorganism, and to provide a plant growth promoter utilizing the resultant hydrolyzate with the microorganism.
The new microorganism Stenotrophomonas sp. SB67 has the proteolytic ability. The method for the proteolytic treatment of the fishes comprises reacting the new microorganism with the fishes or a crushed product of the fishes and hydrolyzing the protein. The plant growth promoter comprises a protein hydrolyzate obtained by reacting the new microorganism with the fishes or the crushed product of the fishes.
