Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: The compound of formula I [at least either R3 or R4 is naphthyl or formula II (X2 and Y2 are each halogen, CN, CF3, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, alkanoylamino, dialkylamino or the like, either X2 or Y2 can be H) and either R3 or R4 can be unsubstituted phenyl].
USE: This is used for polymer soluble dyes and pigments.
PREPARATION: Nitril of the formula, R3CN, bromoacetate and zinc are heated in an inert organic solvent (such as benzene), together with nitril of the formula, R4CN according to circumstances, to obtain the compound of formula I.
