Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the new polyene macrolide compound having an excellent antifungal action and useful as an antifungal agent.
CONSTITUTION: The polyene macrolide compound of the formula (R is methyl, carboxyl, alkoxycarbonyl) or its medicinally acceptable salt. The compound of the formula is obtained by culturing a polyene macrolide compound-producing bacterium (FERM P-12649) belonging to the genus streptoverticillium and subsequently collecting the polyene macrolide compound from the cultured product.
