Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polyhydroxyalkanoate given by solving problems (hardness and brittleness) in melt-processability caused by a conventional polyhydroxyalkanoate which is obtained by biosynthesis to have 3-hydroxybutyric acid as its polymeric unit, and to provide an application of the same to an image forming process.
SOLUTION: The polyhydroxyalkanoate containing one or more units expressed by chemical formula (1) (R is OH, a halogen, ONa, OK, OCH3 or OC2H5; A is a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic hydrocarbon structure; and m is an integer selected from 1 to 8; provided that R, A and m in a unit are independent of those in other units, respectively, when a plurality of units exist in the same molecule) in its molecule, a method for producing the same, a charge controlling agent containing the same, a toner binder, a toner, an image forming method using the toner, and an image forming apparatus using the toner are provided, respectively.
