Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a practically very useful rigid polymer by three- dimensionally linking a rigid high-mol.-wt. polymer [e.g. poly-p- phenylenebenzobisthiazole(PBT), poly-p-phenylenebenzobisoxazole(PBO), or poly-p-phenylenepyromellitimide(PPPI)].
CONSTITUTION: A new three-dimensional network chain polymer is obtd. by covalently bonding the main chains of adjacent PBO or PPPI moleules by using acetylene groups, etc., introduced into side chains of the molecules and by further forming covalent bondings in the direction vertical to the above-formed bodings.
