To provide a polypeptide useful for exploration and development of a therapeutic agent for diseases associated with a diacylglycerol (DG) lipase, a DNA encoding the polypeptide, an antibody recognizing the polypeptide and a method for utilizing the same.

The polypeptide is produced by obtaining the DNA encoding the polypeptide having a DG lipase activity from a human brain. The antibody recognizing the polypeptide is produced. The resultant polypeptide or antibody, etc., are used to construct a screening system for the therapeutic agent for the diseases associated with the DG lipase.
